You have taken the first step by researching for your trip. You selected and booked a tour/safari operator that fits your needs. You purchased your flight. And now, you are landing at Kilimanjaro airport in Arusha, Tanzania. The plane taxis to a stop in front of the terminal and the portable steps are brought alongside. Down the steps and across the tarmac to the terminal, you walk. It is evening. You can’t really see your surroundings. You could be anywhere, but you are not. You are in Africa and starting an adventure of a lifetime. After clearing customs and immigration, you gather your checked baggage and exit the building. There is a gathering outside waiting on the disembarking passengers. Many of them are holding up signs with names written in large letters. You see your name and hurry over to meet your contact.
Where you go and what you hope to see have been planned. Your excitement level is high. This is it. You are finally on safari in Tanzania.,
Your first night’s accommodations will probably be only a short drive from the airport. After the long flight, you are ready for a good night sleep. After a hearty breakfast, the adventure continues.
